ACCELERATE your digital factory transformation
Bridge the physical & digital to unlock new digital factory insights
The digital factory is a factory whose operations are built on data. Operational data from factory devices, robots and machines are combined and analysed to rapidly derive new insights and inform decision-making. These insights are integral to unlocking capacity in the factory through higher utilisation, optimised manufacturing flows, increased energy efficiency and reduced raw material usage.
Within the smart factory, Analog Devices’ IO-Link master and device transceiver portfolio offers a flexible means of moving intelligence from the PLC closer to the sensors on the factory floor. While process plants, often an extension of the smart factory, are being modernised by adding high speed Ethernet to field instruments often deployed in remote and intrinsically safe environments, using the Ethernet-APL standard.
Digitize and seamlessly connect your digital factory’s automation equipment with ADI’s proven, easy-to-adopt measurement and connectivity solutions.
Learn how ADI is bridging the physical world of the factory floor with centralised control, by precisely sensing, measuring, and interpreting the environment, then securely delivering data throughout the factory network.

The evaluation kits provide an end to end evaluation of the communication path from the host processor to the programmable logic controller (PLC) or PC-based tool.
The evaluation kits can completely verify the communication path between the host processor and a PLC before integrating the network interface into the end field device.

Reference Design Evaluation Kit (MAX17608, MAX22200, MAX22514) IO-Link Transceiver, Communication
Designed, Built, Tested Board pictured here has been fully assembled and tested.
The MAXREFDES278# is a complete IO-Link® 8-Channel solenoid actuator reference design based on a MAX22514 IO-Link transceiver with integrated protection. It demonstrates an 8-Channel solenoid actuator using the MAX22200 1A Octal Integrated Serial-Controlled Solenoid Driver with integrated FETs.

The EVAL-AD4130-8WARDZ evaluation kit features the AD4130-8 24-bit, ultra-low power, low noise analog-to-digital converter (ADC).
The EVAL-AD4130-8WARDZ board connects to the USB port of the PC by connecting to the EVAL-SDP-CK1Z motherboard. A 5V USB supply via the PC is regulated to 3.3 V to supply the AD4130-8 and support all necessary components.

The PMOD compatible evaluation/prototyping board is a small form factor, low cost, low noise, 24-Bit, Sigma-Delta ADC board. When prototyping, this board is used in conjunction with the ADICUP3029 or any other PMOD compatible development platform.

Smart factory sensors and actuators facilitate better decision making to support flexible and readily optimized manufacturing processes. Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI)’s IO-Link® technology transforms traditional sensors into smart sensors to upgrade industrial facilities into real-time configurable smart factory floors.
Smart Factory Sensor Use-Case

Welcome to the frontlines of Industry 4.0. Field Instruments combine sensors, actuators, intelligent signal processing, and robust communications while often operating in the harshest of environments. These Intelligent Edge devices are responsible for capturing, interpreting, and communicating data to the cloud, where algorithms and analytics transform it into insights and actions.
Field Instruments Use-Case
Industrial smart sensors with IO-Link communication are common across a broad range of measurement modalities such as pressure, temperature, angle, and position. With pre-selected technology combinations, tools, and expertise, ADI’s precision signal chains offer a simplified design journey, with optimizations for key smart sensor performance specifications such as noise, bandwidth, density, and power efficiency.
