Open frame power supplies are a type of power supplies that has all the components exposed, meaning all the components used in the power supply are accessible to the user. They are used in medical, ITE, commercial, and industrial equipment. Open frame AC-DC power supplies are available in a variety of form factors and types – linear to switched mode power supplies. The open frame construction enables efficient cooling compared to enclosed or encapsulated power supplies.

They are designed to accept different mains or AC input voltages and convert them into the required single or multiple DC voltages tailored to the specific application's needs.
