Power Distribution Switches | element14 New Zealand

element14 offers an exclusive range of power distribution switches with lower ON resistance, faster response times, and improved efficiency to meet the growing demands of modern electronic systems.

A Power Distribution Switch offers an electrical connection from a voltage source or ground to a load. It saves power across multiple voltage rails and protects subsystems from damage. Power distribution switches are essential in modern electronic systems, offering intelligent power management and protection features. These integrated circuits (ICs) control and distribute power to various loads while providing crucial safety mechanisms like overcurrent, short-circuit, and thermal protection.

These switches are popular in automotive applications, industrial equipment, consumer electronics, and data centres. Modern power distribution switches often integrate advanced features such as programmable current limits, fault reporting, soft-start functionality, and diagnostic capabilities.

Key benefits include reduced board space compared to discrete solutions, enhanced system protection, simplified design processes, and improved thermal performance. Many variants support high- and low-side switching configurations, with options for single or multiple channels.

Typical applications include USB power delivery, battery-powered devices, motor control systems, and industrial automation equipment. These ICs typically operate across wide voltage ranges and offer various package options to suit different thermal and space requirements.
