Product Overview
The A440 is a RS-232 to RS-422 Interface Converter provides transient protection using Transorbs. The device allows any RS-232 serial device to communicate with any RS-422 serial device. As well as transferring data it provides one pair of handshaking lines that is DTR/DSR or CTS/RTS for the control of the data flow. The device has been engineered for use in both industrial and commercial environments.
- Bidirectional RS-232 to RS-422 interface conversion in asynchronous mode
- Transient Protection on RS-422 lines
- Supports XON/XOFF software handshaking
- Supports DTR/DSR or CTS/RTS handshaking
- Transmits data reliably at up to 64Kbps
- Switch selectable RS-422 termination resistors for cable distances exceeding 50m
- Switchable DCE/DTE selection for RS-232 port
- LED indicators for data activity and power
- Nickel-plated metal case will withstand rugged applications
- Reverse polarity protection
- Standard DB25 used for RS-232 and RS-422 interfaces
