Product Overview
EVAL-CN0218-SDPZ is a CN0218 circuit evaluation board. The circuit monitors current in systems with high positive common-mode DC voltages of up to +500V with less than 0.2% error. The load current passes through a shunt resistor, which is external to the circuit. The shunt resistor value is chosen so that the shunt voltage is approximately 500mV at maximum load current. It evaluates a precision silicon chain: the AD8212 high-voltage shunt monitor with an external PNP BJT for high-voltage survival, and the AD8605 low-noise op-amp for signal conditioning. The signal is digitized by the AD7171 16-bit sigma-delta ADC using an ADR381 2.5V precision reference. Galvanic safety is maintained via the ADuM5402 digital isolator, which provides isolated power using isoPower technology.
