Product Overview
The MAX16021PTES+T is a low power µP supervisory circuit with battery backup circuit and chip enable gating in 16 pin TQFN package. It monitors power supplies and provides battery-backup control, chip enable gating to write protect memory in µP based systems. This device improves system reliability by providing several supervisory functions in a small, single integrated solution. It perform few basic system functions such as it provides µP reset output during VCC supply power-up, power down and brownout conditions. It controls VCC to battery backup switching internally to maintain data or low power operation for memories, real time clocks (RTCs) and other digital logic when main power is removed. It also provides memory write protection through internal chip enable gating during brownout. It is typically used in main/backup power for RTCs, CMOS memories, industrial control, GPS systems, set-top boxes and point-of-sale equipment.
- Operating voltage range from 0V to 5.5V, fixed reset threshold for monitoring of 2.946V
- Operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C
- Supply current of 3.4μA (VCC = 5.5V, VCC <gt/> VTH) and supply current of 0.25μA in battery backup mode
- Reset timeout period of 215ms and watchdog timeout period of 1.235s
- System monitoring for 5V, 3.3V, 3V, 2.5V or 1.8V power supply voltages
- On-board gating of CE signals, 1.5ns propagation delay, battery freshness seal
- Open-drain output, debounced manual reset (active-low) input
- Power fail comparator and low line indicator for monitoring voltages down to 0.6V
- Battery-on, battery-OK and battery test indicators
- UL certified to conform to IEC 60950-1 standard
