MAX3490EESA+

MAX3490EESA+ is a +3.3V, 12Mbps and slew-rate-limited true RS-485/RS-422 low power transceiver. This contains one driver and one receiver. It features enhanced electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection. This transmitter output and receiver input is protected to ±15kV using IEC 1000-4-2 Air-Gap Discharge, ±8kV using IEC 1000-4-2 Contact Discharge, and ±15kV using the Human Body Model. The driver is short-circuit current limited and is protected against excessive power dissipation by thermal shutdown circuitry that places the driver outputs into a high-impedance state. The receiver input has a fail-safe feature that guarantees a logic-high output if both inputs are open circuit. The MAX3490E features full duplex communication. Application includes telecommunications, industrial-control local area networks, transceivers for EMI-sensitive applications, integrated services digital networks, and packet switching.
