Product Overview
The MAX5456EEE+ is a stereo audio taper potentiometer with pushbutton interface in 16 pin QSOP package. This device is a dual logarithmic potentiometer used to control volume and balance in audio applications. Each potentiometer has 32-taps and the device uses digital inputs with momentary contact single-pole/single-throw (SPST) pushbutton switches. MAX5456 has advance wiper setting with once per button push. SmartWiper control eliminates the need for a microcomputer to increase the wiper transition rate. Holding the control input low for more than 1s advances the wiper at a rate of 4Hz for 4s and 16Hz per second thereafter. It has 4-button interface with separate inputs for up and down volume controls, left and right balance controls.

- End to end resistance is 10Kohm at ±30% tolerance and temperature coefficient is 50ppm/°C
- Ratiometric temperature coefficient of 5ppm/°C
