Product Overview

The BK1687B from B&K Precision is a switching DC power supply with 1V to 36V variable output voltage, 0A to 10A variable output current. This laboratory grade power supply has high current output in a small, lightweight form factor. It provides various configurations of output voltage/current and features rotary encoder control knobs which make setting voltage/current levels fast and precise. Its dual action push button allows user to easily set both coarse and fine, voltage and current levels. In addition to its constant voltage (CV) and constant current (CC) modes, this high efficiency DC power supply offers preset and remote control modes. For remote control, an analogue remote control terminal is accessible on the rear or use USB interface to communicate with the power supply via PC software or remote commands. These features make 1687B suitable for production testing, telecommunications, R&D, electronic field service and university labs.

  • Automatic CV/CC crossover operation, analogue remote control function, USB interface
  • PC software for remote control and external timed programming
  • Front panel auxiliary output, overvoltage, overtemperature and overload protection
  • Load regulation of <= 50mV Load (voltage, 0-100% Load), <= 100mA (current, 10-90% rated voltage)
  • <= 20mV (voltage), <= 50mA (current) line regulation at 90-132VAC, 170-264VAC variation
  • <= 5mV (RMS), <= 50mV (peak-peak) ripple & noise voltage, <= 30mA current ripple & noise (RMS)
  • 3-digit LED display, ±0.2% + 3 counts voltage and current meter, 100 to 120KHz switching frequency
  • 82% (100VAC), 86% (230VAC) efficiency, 1.5ms transient response time (50-100% load)
  • 200 x 90 x 208mm dimension (W x H x D), 2.4Kg weight and 0°C to 40°C operating temperature
